Small Demolition & Teardown in the Phoenix Metro

Some things cannot just be carried out. Sheds, decks, patio covers, fences, hot tubs and old built-ins have to come apart first. We bring the tools, take it down safely, haul every piece away and sweep the area. Same-day and next-day availability across the Valley. Call (623) 220-0018.

What We Tear Down

We handle small structural and interior demolition. If it is bolted, framed, buried or built in, it usually lands here rather than on a straight junk removal job:

What we do not do: whole-house demolition, anything load-bearing, and anything needing structural engineering or asbestos abatement. If your job crosses that line we will say so and point you to the right kind of contractor rather than take it on.

Why a Hot Tub Is Its Own Category

Hot tub removal is the job people most often underestimate, so it is worth being specific. A hot tub is a fiberglass shell, a heavy insulated cabinet, a pump, and often a deck or pergola built tight around it. Nobody is carrying that out whole.

The work is: disconnect the power (a licensed electrician if it is hardwired), drain it fully, cut the shell into manageable sections, separate the equipment, and carry it out piece by piece, frequently through a side gate that was never designed for it. Access is what drives the price far more than the tub itself.

We quote hot tubs on site for exactly that reason. An open backyard with a wide gate is a different job from a tub sunk into a raised deck behind a narrow walkway, and it would be dishonest to price them the same over the phone.

Permits: The Honest Answer

Whether you need a permit depends on the structure and the city, and Valley cities do not all agree.

As a rough guide, many small detached sheds under a certain square footage and ground-level decks do not require one, while anything attached to the house, anything over the size threshold, and anything involving electrical, gas or plumbing usually does. Pool and spa removal often has its own requirements. HOAs frequently add rules of their own on top, and in a lot of Scottsdale and North Phoenix neighborhoods the HOA is the stricter of the two.

Check with your city building department and your HOA before demolition day. We will tell you honestly when we think a job needs a permit, but pulling it is the property owner's responsibility and we will not pretend otherwise.

How the Day Goes

  1. Walkthrough and firm quote. We look at the structure, the access route and what it is attached to, then give you a fixed price. Nothing starts until you approve it.
  2. Disconnect and prep. Power, water or gas isolated first. We protect the surfaces and plants along the carry path.
  3. Controlled teardown. Taken apart in sections rather than knocked over, which is safer, quieter and far less likely to damage a fence, a wall or an irrigation line.
  4. Haul away. Every piece goes on the truck. Clean lumber, metal and concrete get separated for recycling.
  5. Sweep and inspect. We rake and sweep the footprint and walk it with you before we leave. Screws and nails in a yard are how a demolition job gets remembered for the wrong reason.

The Part Most People Forget

Whatever was under that shed or deck has not seen sun in years, and demolition drags dirt, splinters and debris straight through the house if the crew is careless. It is the reason a demolition company that also cleans carpet is genuinely useful: we can tear out an old kitchen and steam clean the carpet afterward in one booking, or handle a full move-out where a rental needs both.

Call (623) 220-0018 to describe the structure, or send a photo and we will tell you what is involved. See also our pricing guide and full junk removal service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of demolition do you do?

Small structural and interior demolition: backyard sheds, wood decks, patio covers, fences, hot tubs, above-ground pools, old kitchen cabinets, countertops, tile and carpet. Breakdown, haul-off and cleanup are all included. We do not take on whole-house demolition or work that needs structural engineering.

Do I need a permit to demolish a shed or deck in Phoenix?

It depends on the structure and your city. Many small detached sheds and ground-level decks do not require a permit, while anything attached to the house, over a certain size, or involving electrical or plumbing usually does. Check with your city building department or your HOA first. We will tell you honestly if we think your job needs one.

How much does it cost to remove a hot tub?

Hot tub removal is quoted on site because access is what drives the work: a tub in an open backyard is straightforward, while one behind a narrow gate or on a raised deck takes longer to cut down and carry out. We look at it, give you a firm price, and start only when you agree. Call (623) 220-0018.
